Christina Brennan

Christina is a freelance writer and film critic from Yorkshire. She writes about all types of films. She is as interested in what happens behind the camera as much as on the screen. Christina shares the year of her birth with Bernard Rose’s Candyman and Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula. And David Fincher’s Alien 3, which has aged somewhat better than expected.

Her work has appeared in Little White Lies, Movie Marker, ScreenSphere, and many other places. She has interviewed rising stars, including Amber Doig-Thorne and Ayvianna Snow. She has covered major film festivals, including Manchester International Film Festival, Glasgow FrightFest, and Sundance London. In the more distant past, she did a PhD on post-apocalyptic horror and science-fiction.

 

Her first book, an in-depth study of the Dutch French psychological thriller The Vanishing, will be published in March 2025. While writing this book, she had a lot of fun squirrelling around various film archives, including the British Film Institute.
